Improvement of the Environmental Communication of Migrants.

Projekttreffen

15 participants from 6 different countries (Poland, Italy, Greece, Estonia, Romania, Bulgaria) took part in the 5-day workshop „Improvement of the Environmental Communication of Migrants“ from 09/14/2009 – 09/20/2009. They either work with migrants in the field of further education and integration as mediators or networkers, or they are interested in the field. The environmental problem and the climate change are, for various reasons, not yet topics of interest for migrants in the different countries. The participants of the workshop gained a deeper awareness of the importance of environmental education in the field of migration work, where it should play a key role among other integrational and educational activities. Important stimuli could be given and a sensitizing could be reached in diverse fields such as resource conservation, nature protection, health and environmental hygiene, air and air pollution control, waste management, energy saving, economical use of materials, alternative energies etc.
