Welcome to our residential education centre St. Hedwig's House - Institute for migration and repatriation issues!
Our residential education centre St. Hedwig's House is an officially recognized, Catholic institution of adult education, working mainly in the field of political education, as well as religious education, parental and family education, personal and cultural education.
"The Hedwig's House is a place for learning, that in contrast to normal school does not order or prescribe, but creates a lot of space, where you can learn things which you really want to know. The Hedwig's House is unconventional and always interesting, an intercultural meeting place.
Udo Reineke, expert on educational questions in the Archdiocese of Paderborn
After the Second World War, Catholic expellees and refugees founded the registered St. Hedwig's Association of the Archdiocese of Paderborn, including the residential education centre St. Hedwig's House, which was then situated in a charming antiquated former restaurant in Oerlinghausen.
From the very beginning, our residential education centre has been is a bridge between East and West, a place of reconciliation and encounter. Life-long learning and living together under one roof promotes understanding of the situation of the others.
Apart from our usual educational programme, we also have long-term projects that have a special place in the work of our residential education centre - currently, in the past as well as in the future.
Our seminars are held in various education institutions. When selecting an institution, we take into account the needs of the respective target group.
